Tyrrells Reef

As a passionate reef hobbyist, I offer a limited selection of carefully grown coral frags from my personal reef to fellow enthusiasts.

My corals are grown in impeccably maintained tanks using modern reef systems to ensure their health and quality.

I post within the UK from my online coral shop, or you’re welcome to collect from Ramsgate, Kent, and view the reef system in person. If you’re interested, please contact me

This is how my Reef tank looks today powered by modern Reef

COMING SOON:

Coming soon: I will be posting photos from when I started my reefing hobby back in 2012, through breeding clownfish, right up to the present day.

My Reef Tank Progress & Water Parameters Using Modern Reef

My Reef Parameters 🪸 10.04.26

Salinity: 1.026 sg

Alk: 8.2 to 8.3 dKH This is controlled by my AquaWiz controller.

Calcium: 450 ppm ok

Magnesium: 1490 ppm on the high side

Nitrate: 14.8 ppm ok

Phosphate: 0.25 ppm on the high side

Notes: I have started dosing Modern Reef Polypop and Complete Coral Food daily. This is an add-on to the 4-part Modern Reef dosing system.

My Reef Parameters 🪸 23.04.26

Salinity: 1.026 sg

Alk: 8.2 to 8.3 dKH This is controlled by my AquaWiz controller.

Nitrate: 11.9ppm

Phosphate: 0.27ppm

My Reef Parameters 🪸 02.05.26

Salinity: 1.026 sg

Alk: 8.2 to 8.3 dKH This is controlled by my AquaWiz controller.

Calcium: 450 ppm ok

Nitrate: 13 ppm ok

Phosphate: 0.24 ppm on the high side

Notes: I’m going to reduce my KH dosing to 7.7 dKH to bring down my calcium over the next month.

My Reef Parameters 🪸 26.05.26

Salinity: 1.026 sg

Alk: 7.5 to 7.8 dKH This is controlled by my AquaWiz controller

Calcium: 465 ppm going up

Magnesium: 1495 ppm on the high side

Nitrate: 0.90 ppm ok

Phosphate: 0.07 ppm

Notes: Wow, over the last 3 weeks my phosphate has dropped to 0.07 ppm, and the nitrates have come down as well.

I can only put this down to dosing Modern Reef Polypop and Complete Coral Food.

The corals have got a lot more colour in the polyps, and I’ve had much more growth from the SPS corals. The skimmer is pulling out lots of nice skim each day, whereas before there wasn’t as much skimming going on.

I think there is a lot more bacteria in the water, which is good for the corals. The bacteria would also be consuming phosphates and nitrates, which are then being skimmed out of the water, lowering phosphate and nitrate levels.
